Methodology Diagram
The diagram below depicts how a UCD project (ideally) is organised. Shown are the activities, how they relate to each other, their interdependencies and whether they can serve as a starting point or milestone. It is not said that each of these activities are always required. For example, it is not always necessary to conduct User Interviews and set up a Focus Group. The activities are divided into four blocks or phases:- Orientation: phase that provides a general overview of the target user and business needs, resulting in the High Level UCD Architecture Framework
- Conceptualisation: phase required to define the guiding creative, cognitive and content concept for the development of the user experience, resulting in Concept creation
- Finalisation: In this phase the concept is reviewed, refined, checked for technical feasibility and elaborated. This phase ends with Concept Reiteration .
- Implementation: phase required to define, build and validate various items needed for the end product, ending with the Verification activity.
